The team from Skift recently interviewed Feargal Mooney from Hostelworld. Feargal joined Hostelworld back in 2002 as COO – and since the company has floated in the London and Dublin stock exchange has been integral in changing and adapting the company’s strategic direction as CEO.
GuestCentrix has offered a  direct interface to Hostelworld for several years, and the company has been a very important business partner to GuestCentrix for a long while. The hostel software industry is very competitive, and Hostelworld have constantly updated their online hostel booking engine, and the manner in which it interfaces to hostel software solutions.
Despite the sometimes negative discussions which have been had around many hostel conferences and events, they remain a key and important player in the hostel industry. The insights and statistics that Hostelworld and their team have provided to operators has proved to be invaluable for business planning and forecasting – and their annual conference in Dublin has further cemented their position, and their importance, within this dynamic and ever changing industry.
