The first in a series of Q&A’s with team members from some of our awesome clients, on a recent visit to Brisbane we spoke with Ruth Carroll – Revenue and Operations Manager for the recently opened Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments located in Brisbanes Fortitude Valley.
CMS: Hi Ruth, Thank you for joining us in this edition of CMS Hospitality’s newsletter. We had the pleasure of seeing your property recently and it is fantastic. What drove Alex Perry to enter into the boutique hotel arena?
Ruth: Thank you, we are very proud of the hotel and fortunate to be operating from a development that had creative direction from Australia’s iconic fashion designer.

CMS: How has the Brisbane market responded?
Ruth: The response to a larger scale boutique hotel has been fantastic. It’s a credit to our team really, their service delivery is the perfect complement to the hotel product itself. To be listed in the top 10 Brisbane Hotels on TripAdvisor within 6 months of opening shows our guests have really embraced the Boutique Apartment Hotel style of accommodation, which is new and exciting in the Brisbane market
CMS: What have you loved most about launching the Alex Perry Hotel and Apartments?
Ruth: The surprise and delight factor of the property. While you can see images and virtual tours online, the feeling you get of warmth in a Brunette style room is really welcoming, they are my favourite rooms regardless of the layout and so many of our guests comment on it. That and the rooftop relaxation area – I love the view looking down Ann Street into the CBD from the pool!

CMS: Have you been tempted to invite Neil Perry up to get the barbie going?
Ruth: You know I’d never tell – the privacy of our guests and VIP visitors is paramount 😉
CMS: Thanks Ruth
